Restorative Music
Restorative Music is a form of musical improvisation that uses the qualities of sounds to produce a calming effect in the brain. The pieces below are performed by Clara Takarabe, a music practitioner and violist who performs with the Chicago Symphony Orchestra. Clara Takarabe and cognitive neurologist Borna Bonakdarpour, developed Restorative Music during the COVID-19 pandemic to help reduce tension and anxiety.
Based on current literature and data compiled by NMMP, Restorative Music offers the following benefits:

Transition from beta (faster) to alpha (slower) brain waves.
